Important Information for Commercial/Business Customers: This notice is provided in accordance with Regulation GG: The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006.
It is the policy of The Citizens National Bank of McConnelsville (“The Bank” or “CNB”) to adhere to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (“UIGEA” or “Act”), 31 USC 5361-5366, and set forth policies and procedures for complying with the joint rule promulgated pursuant to the Act by the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (Federal Reserve Board). An identical joint rule is published in two parts of the Code of Federal Regulations (12 CFR Part 233 (Federal Reserve Board) and 31 CFR Part 132 (Treasury)). The UIGEA prohibits any person or legal entity engaged in the business of betting or wagering from knowingly accepting payments in connection with the participation of another person in Unlawful Internet Gambling, as defined in The Act. As defined in Regulation GG, "Unlawful Internet Gambling" refers to the customer "placing, receiving, or otherwise knowingly transmitting a bet or wager by any means which involves the use, at least in part, of the Internet where such bet or wager is unlawful under any applicable Federal or State Law in the State or Tribal Lands in which the bet or wager is initiated, received, or otherwise made." As a customer of The Bank, these restricted transactions are prohibited from being processed through your account or during your banking relationship with CNB. If you or your business engages in Internet gambling and open an account or establishes a banking relationship with CNB, we will ask that you provide evidence of your legal capacity to engage in Internet Gambling.
CNB may choose to terminate any account relationship with an individual or commercial customer if they are discovered to have engaged in Unlawful Internet Gambling or any other illegal activities.
